Kind words & heartfelt notes
Hi, I'm Natalie
You don't need a milestone to have beautiful photos together. Sometimes you simply want to remember this part of your life: the way you make each other laugh, reach for each other's hand or feel at home together. That's what I love capturing, whether you're newly engaged, planning a surprise proposal or years into your love story.
Based in Coquitlam, I photograph couples throughout the Tri-Cities and Greater Vancouver. We'll choose a setting and an approach that feel right for you, from a relaxed walk somewhere meaningful to a more dressed-up session. If you're planning to propose, I'll help with the timing, location and where I'll be positioned, keeping the photography a surprise until the moment arrives.
You'll have gentle guidance throughout, along with time to settle in and enjoy each other's company. After more than 10 years and 1,000 photo sessions, my favourite part is still noticing what makes each couple different. I want you to leave with photographs you love and memories of a good time together.
A few favourites near the Tri-Cities, for the light, the views and room to move - places I return to again and again for photography in Coquitlam.

Port Moody
The pier at sunset, ocean air and warm coastal light - a dreamy spot for engagements.

Belcarra
Forest meeting ocean, quiet coves and driftwood shorelines.

Coquitlam
Marshland boardwalks, rocky knolls and wide, wild views for adventurous couples.

Maple Ridge
Mountain water and boulders. Summer weekends get busy and parking may need a free day-use pass.

Port Coquitlam
Textured walls, large windows and an infinity wall.

Port Coquitlam
Fabric curtains, screens and paper backdrops.

Pitt Meadows
Styled interiors, paper backdrops and several set-ups in one space.
Or another studio you have in mind
Somewhere else in mind? Anywhere in Greater Vancouver works - just tell me where.
There isn't only one reason to book a couples session. You may want to celebrate the relationship you already share, photograph the excitement of being newly engaged, or keep the moment one of you asks a life-changing question.

An engagement session gives you time to celebrate without the nerves or secrecy of the proposal. It can happen soon after you get engaged or later, while you plan the wedding.
Your photos can go on announcements, invitations or a wedding website - or simply be kept as a record of this exciting chapter.

For couples who want to remember what their relationship feels like right now: an anniversary, a new chapter, or realizing that most of your photos together are quick phone pictures.
We'll make space for the laughter, affection and quiet ways you naturally connect - less posing, more enjoying time together.

We'll plan the spot, timing, positioning and small details ahead of time so your partner stays present in the moment without noticing the camera.
I'll be ready for the reaction and the first moments after the yes, and we can follow it with a short engagement session while the excitement is fresh.
Three to six weeks ahead is ideal, and a little more for spring and fall weekends at sunset, which go first. Sometimes I can fit a session in within a week, depending on availability, so it's always worth asking - but booking ahead gives you the best choice of dates.
Of course. Tell me what you love - water, forest or a city street - and the mood you're after, and I'll suggest a few spots that suit you and the season. Near the Tri-Cities, Rocky Point, Belcarra and Minnekhada are favourites, but anywhere in Greater Vancouver works. A studio can be booked too, from $50 per hour.
Choose clothes you feel good in, then coordinate rather than match: two or three colours that sit well together, a mix of textures and no big logos. Send me what you're considering, and I'll help you narrow it down. Hair and makeup can be arranged with artists I trust.
That's very common, and it rarely shows in the photos. I don't ask anyone to hold stiff poses - I give you simple things to do together, like walking, talking or holding each other close, so the reluctant one can relax. Most partners tell me afterwards it was far easier than they expected.
I watch the hourly forecast and usually make the call a day or two before. Cloud or a light drizzle can actually be lovely - soft light, an umbrella, a cosy feel. If it's properly wet, we'll simply move to another date.
The Couples Classic includes at least 50 edited images and the Signature at least 100. You'll see a few previews within two business days and your full gallery within two weeks, with files ready to print and share. Need them sooner? 48-hour express editing is available for $150.
Absolutely - dogs often bring out the most natural smiles. A friend can hold the leash and take your dog home partway through, so we get photos of just the two of you too. Tell me ahead of time, and I'll suggest a spot where dogs are welcome.
