Kind words & heartfelt notes
Hi, I'm Natalie
Pregnancy can feel beautiful, powerful, unfamiliar and exhausting - sometimes all in the same day. As a mother of two, I know this stage personally. You don't need to arrive feeling perfectly confident or knowing what to do in front of the camera. I'll guide you through it.
Before your session, I'll help you choose a setting that feels like you. We can go anywhere - a beach, a forest trail, a quiet street in the city. Around Coquitlam and the Tri-Cities, two of my favourites are the still water at Buntzen Lake and the golden fields along the Pitt River Dike, and a studio works beautifully if you'd like a softer, more polished look. We'll plan your wardrobe and the mood together, so you never have to wonder what to wear or where to go.
After more than 10 years and 1,000 photo sessions, I've learned that the most meaningful maternity portraits come from making space for you to feel comfortable, seen, and like yourself.
Both work beautifully - here are a few favourites near the Tri-Cities, where much of my Coquitlam photography happens.

Anmore
Still water, forested shorelines and the famous dock at golden hour.

Pitt Meadows
Golden fields with some of the closest mountain views around. A short, gentle walk downhill from the main path - or we stay on the gravel road.

Maple Ridge
Clear water and smooth lakeshore rocks. South Beach is easy to reach; summer parking may need a free day-use pass.

Burnaby
A pebble beach and old pier posts by the water - beautiful in flowing gowns.

Port Coquitlam
Textured walls, large windows and an infinity wall.

Port Coquitlam
Fabric curtains, screens and paper backdrops.

Pitt Meadows
Styled interiors, paper backdrops and several set-ups in one space.
Or another studio you have in mind
Somewhere else in mind? Anywhere in Greater Vancouver works - just tell me where.
Pregnancy can feel slow while you're living it and surprisingly brief once it's over. A maternity session gives you time to step away from the planning and appointments and keep this chapter - the anticipation, the connection, and the change.

Your body is changing as it makes room for someone new, and it's normal not to feel camera-ready every day. Maternity portraits aren't about pretending everything feels effortless - they honour your strength, softness and individuality exactly as they are now.
With gentle direction and thoughtful posing, we'll create photographs that help you see yourself with a little more kindness.

Your session can focus entirely on you, or include your partner, your children, even your dog. The way they hold you and look at you may feel ordinary now, but these quiet gestures become part of the story.
Photographing this together preserves more than how you looked - it keeps the closeness and anticipation surrounding your baby before you finally meet.

Long before your child can remember this time, your maternity photos can show them how deeply they were anticipated.
Whether we photograph you outdoors or in a studio, we'll create portraits that feel personal, natural, and true to you.
Most sessions happen between 27 and 32 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round but moving and posing still feel comfortable. Every pregnancy is different, so treat it as a guide rather than a rule - if you're expecting twins or feeling more tired, we can plan a little earlier.
Yes - all three work. Outdoors gives you natural light and plenty of variety; a studio offers privacy, controlled light and a polished look, with somewhere to sit between outfits; and a session at home feels personal and relaxed, especially in the last weeks of pregnancy. Studio rental is additional and starts at $50 per hour.
I'm based in Coquitlam, but I photograph maternity sessions anywhere in Greater Vancouver. Around the Tri-Cities, I love Buntzen Lake and the Pitt River Dike, and Vancouver's beaches, gardens and city streets are just as easy to plan. A $20 travel fee applies only to West Vancouver, Richmond, UBC and Spanish Banks.
You don't have to work it out alone - I'll help you choose colours, textures and silhouettes that flatter your bump and suit the setting. The Maternity Classic has time for up to two outfits and the Signature for up to five, so you can pair a flowing gown with something relaxed. You're also welcome to borrow from my client closet for free.
Absolutely - partners, children and pets are all welcome. We'll make sure you have portraits on your own as well as photos with your growing family. Let me know who's coming when you get in touch, so I can plan the session around them.
It's optional, but many clients love how it helps them feel polished and camera-ready, and it shows beautifully in close portraits. Over the years I've worked with several talented hair and makeup artists, and I'm happy to recommend them. If you prefer your everyday look, that works just as well.
Your comfort comes first. If you're not feeling well, tell me as soon as you can, and we'll find a new date. For outdoor sessions, I watch the forecast and usually make the final call a day or two before - if the weather isn't right, we'll reschedule too.
The Maternity Classic includes at least 25 edited images from a studio session or 45 from an outdoor one; the Signature, at least 40 studio or 80 outdoor images. Each is professionally edited with subtle skin retouching, and your private online gallery arrives within 12 business days.
