Feedback from clients

Hi, I'm Natalie

Newborn photographer, and a mother who remembers this blur

As a mom of two, I understand how surreal life becomes after a baby arrives. The days are full, sleep is scarce, and precious moments slip by in an instant. During your newborn session, there's no pressure to be perfectly ready.

Whether you're in Langley, Walnut Grove or elsewhere in the Fraser Valley, we'll decide together whether your own home or a studio suits you best - most families choose home - pick comfy outfits, and focus on what matters most. I'll guide you gently while making sure there's always time to feed, change and cuddle your little one - awake or sleepy.

With over 10 years and 1,000+ sessions behind me, I've learned that the simplest photographs often become the most treasured: a tiny hand around a finger, a loving gaze, an older sibling leaning in close.

More About Natalie

Where your newborn session happens

Usually at home - the easiest place for a new baby. Or a studio set up for you before you arrive, near you in Langley and the Fraser Valley or anywhere across Greater Vancouver.

    Most newborn sessions

    In your home

Anywhere in Langley, the Fraser Valley or Greater Vancouver, where travel and light allow. Your home doesn't need to look perfect - one or two spots with good window light are enough, and your baby stays somewhere familiar between feeds.

    Prepared before you arrive

    A booked studio

A calm, uncluttered space with soft, controlled light, ready when you arrive. Polly's Cottage Studio in Fort Langley and Peach Pitt Studio in Pitt Meadows both suit newborns, and I can book any studio in Greater Vancouver that's easier for you to reach.

Why book a newborn photo session?

Right now your world may be measured in feeds, naps and hours of sleep. Newborn photographs give you something the blur can't: a way to return to the details, the closeness, and the family you became when this baby arrived.

To remember how small they really were

One day it will be hard to believe your baby ever fit so completely in your arms. The curled legs will stretch and the tiny fingers will open, almost before you notice.

A newborn session preserves that scale in a way memory can't: the soft hair, sleepy expressions, wrinkled toes, and the way your hand once covered almost their whole back.

To see the love surrounding your baby

You're becoming a parent, or parents together, or learning how your family works with one more person in it. Older children are becoming siblings.

These photographs keep the way you looked at your baby before it became familiar, the careful way you held them, and the pride in a sibling's face. You deserve to be in this part of the story, not only behind the camera.

To give your child a place in their own beginning

Your baby won't remember these days, but one day they may want to see them - how small they were, where they felt safe, and who couldn't stop looking at them.

Over time, newborn portraits become part of your child's own history, and part of the story your family tells about the moment everything changed.

Photo session FAQs

How do we schedule a session if we don't know the arrival date?

We plan around your due date. Book during pregnancy, and once your baby arrives, send me a message - we'll choose a day that suits you, usually within the first couple of weeks. You don't need to guess the date in advance.

Can we still book if our baby is already a few weeks old?

Yes, please do. Beautiful newborn photographs aren't limited to one perfect day. An older baby is often more alert, which brings expressions and eye contact into the gallery - we'll plan the session around the stage they're in now.

Is your style more relaxed than a classic posed newborn session?

Yes. Instead of props, baskets and tight decorative wraps, I photograph your baby as they naturally are - in your arms, stretching, yawning and feeding. It feels less like a production and more like a slow morning with your family, whether we're at home or in a studio.

What if our baby won't settle or stays wide awake?

Then we photograph that. Bright eyes, tiny frowns and the moment they finally relax against you are some of the most honest photos in a gallery. There's no rush - your baby doesn't need to sleep for the session to go well.

Can we take breaks for feeding, changing, and soothing?

Of course - as many as you need. Up to an hour and a half gives us plenty of room, and pauses are built into the session rather than squeezed in. You'll never be asked to hurry something your baby needs.

What if our home is small or doesn't have much natural light?

Most homes work better than people expect - a bed by a window or a corner of the living room is often all we need. If your space is very dark, a studio can be booked and prepared instead; studio rental is additional and starts at $50 per hour. We'll decide together before the day.

Do we need to provide blankets, outfits, or anything else?

Yes - please have a couple of soft, plain blankets and an outfit or two for your baby ready, along with whatever you usually need for feeding and changing. I don't bring blankets or props, so your photos are made with your baby's own things. Wardrobe guidance is part of the planning, so I'll help you choose what to have ready.

Can our older children and pets be in the photos too?

Yes - they're part of this new chapter. Siblings are welcome, and I'll plan the session so they join early, while they're fresh. Pets can join too; the family dog on the sofa with everyone is always a favourite. Tell me your family's size and children's ages when you get in touch.
