Langley Proposal Photographer

You'll only ask once - let's make sure you can see it again

The moment you ask will be over in seconds. I'll help you plan it, stay out of sight, and capture the surprise, the happy tears and the hug that follows, so you can relive it for years. Based in Langley, serving Greater Vancouver.

  • Langley & Fraser Valley
  • Surprise proposals, planned discreetly
  • 10+ years experience
  • Fully insured & licensed
  • Over 1,000+ sessions captured

The light, the crowds, the timing and my position - we'll think it all through together, so the day itself feels easy.

  • Discreet from start to finish

Your partner stays in the moment, not aware of a camera, and the surprise stays a surprise until you ask.

  • The reaction, and what comes after

The question, the yes, the first hug - and, if you like, a few relaxed portraits of the two of you straight after.

Feedback from clients

Hi, I'm Natalie

Proposal photographer, quietly waiting for the yes

Surprise proposals are especially fun for me. Around Langley and the Fraser Valley, I love helping plan the spot, the timing and the small details, quietly waiting for everything to unfold, and then watching the emotion take over. No two reactions are ever the same.

The excitement right after the yes creates photographs that simply can't be recreated. After more than 10 years and 1,000 sessions, I know how to stay out of the way until that moment - and how to make the minutes after it feel relaxed rather than staged.

A few favourite spots to propose

A few favourites around Langley, chosen for the light, a little privacy and a view - and for many couples the start of my wedding photography in Langley.

  • Creative engagement photos, a couple kisses beside an antique wooden cart on the porch of a white clapboard building

    Fort Langley Village

    Fort Langley

Heritage storefronts and the riverbank. Busy on weekends; quieter by the water and on a weekday evening.

  • Forest engagement photos, a couple walks arm in arm across a grassy meadow edged with tall evergreens

    Derby Reach Park

    Langley Twp

Open meadows, split-rail fences and the river - room to set up out of sight.

  • Garden engagement photos beside tall glass greenhouse walls, a couple in wedding attire kisses on a mossy path

    Sendall Gardens

    Langley

Garden paths and a glass greenhouse full of plants - sheltered and romantic on a grey day.

  • Classic engagement photos in warm light, couple kissing, framed by a tree trunk

    Brae Island Park

    Fort Langley

Sandy riverbanks and driftwood with mountain views across the Fraser.

Somewhere else in mind? Anywhere in Greater Vancouver works - just tell me where.

Why photograph your proposal?

A proposal lasts a minute or two, and most people remember it as a happy blur. Photographs let you both see what really happened - and share it with the people you love.

Black and white engagement pictures, hands with an engagement ring by the water

Because you'll only ask once

The walk up to it, the look on their face, the moment they understand - it all happens faster than you'll expect.

With the timing and my position planned, nothing important is missed, and you never have to think about the camera.

Because the reaction can't be recreated

You can re-stage a kiss, but not a surprise. The first seconds after the question are the most honest photographs you'll ever have of the two of you.

I'll be ready for them, and for the hugs, the laughter and the phone calls that follow.

Because it's the first chapter of the story

Proposal photos often end up on engagement announcements, invitations or a wedding website.

If you'd like, we follow the proposal with a short engagement session while the excitement is fresh.

Photo session FAQs

Can you suggest a good place to propose around Langley?

Of course. The best spots usually mean something to you both - a walk you share, a view, a place from your story. Around Langley, I love the charm of Fort Langley Village, the gardens at Sendall and the riverside at Derby Reach and Brae Island. We'll think through the light and the crowds together.

How do we keep the proposal a surprise while we plan?

Everything happens quietly, by message or a short call at a time that suits you. We'll settle on a natural reason for the two of you to be there, so nothing feels unusual until you're ready to ask.

Will you stay hidden, or blend in with other people nearby?

It depends on the spot. In a quiet garden, I'll stay well out of sight; in a busier place, I'll look like any other visitor with a camera. Either way, your partner shouldn't notice me until you're down on one knee.

What if the weather turns or the spot is crowded on the day?

We'll have a plan B ready before the day - a different date, or a spot with some cover. If the place is busier than you hoped, we can move a few steps to a quieter corner; I'll scout it out before you arrive.

What if we arrive late or the proposal doesn't happen at the exact planned time?

That's completely normal. We'll keep in touch by text on the day, so if you're running late or the moment needs to wait, I'll stay in place and be ready whenever you are.

Can you coordinate with friends, family, or someone setting up decorations?

Yes, happily. If friends are hiding nearby, family is waiting to celebrate, or someone is setting up flowers or a picnic, I'll connect with them beforehand so everyone knows where to be and when.

When will our full photo gallery be ready?

With Proposal Signature, you'll see a few sneak peeks within 48 hours. Your complete gallery follows within 10 business days, in a private online gallery with files ready to print and share.

How do I reserve the date, and what happens if my plans change?

Send me your date and your idea, and we'll choose the package that fits. A small deposit reserves your date. If something changes, tell me as soon as you can, and we'll work out a new time together.
