Vancouver Elopement Photographer

A small wedding deserves every bit as much care

Vows on a rocky point above the sea, a quiet beach at sunset or a small room with your closest people - an elopement is still your wedding, and it deserves to be remembered just as fully. I'll guide you gently and let the day unfold, so all you have to think about is each other.

  • Room to breathe

A small wedding has no long timeline to keep. I'll guide the portraits and family photos gently, then step back and let the day happen.

  • The whole day, not just the vows

Getting ready, the ceremony, your first minutes as a married couple and the portraits after - told as one story.

The Elopement Experience

Your elopement, start to finish

  1. Tell me about your plans

Your date or season, who'll be there, and the kind of place you're imagining - the ocean, the forest, a garden or a small venue.

    Get in touch

    Step 1

  2. Plan the day together

We'll choose the spot and the light, set the order of the ceremony and portraits, and check the practical details - parking, the walk in, any permit the place needs.

    Step 2

  3. Say your vows, then relive them

I'll photograph the day as it happens, then deliver your edited, print-ready images in a private online gallery.

    Step 3

Feedback from clients

Hi, I'm Natalie

Elopement photographer in Vancouver, drawn to the quiet moments

Small weddings are some of my favourite days to photograph. With only a few people there, every face matters, and there's time for the details a big day rushes past - a hand squeezed before the vows, a parent's quiet word, the laugh once the nerves are gone.

I'll help with the plan - the place, the light, the walk in - and keep the direction light on the day, so the photographs look like the two of you. After more than ten years and over 1,000 sessions, I know how to let a short day unfold without rushing it.

Why choose an elopement?

A smaller wedding isn't a lesser one. It's more time with the people who are there, and a day built around what matters to the two of you.

A day at your own pace

Without a long schedule, the day can move the way you want it to - a walk on the beach after the vows, a toast with your closest people, a quiet hour alone.

I keep the structure light, so the photographs follow the day rather than the other way round.

A place that means something

A small ceremony can happen where a large one can't - on a rocky point, under tall trees, on a beach you love.

We'll plan around the light, the tide and the walk in, so the place works for everyone who's there.

Every part of the story

Getting ready, the first look, the reactions, the portraits afterwards - a short day still has a full story.

Every image is chosen and edited with care, so the gallery feels as considered as the day itself.

Photo session FAQs

What do the elopement collections cover?

Both include consecutive coverage, edited and retouched images, print-ready and web-ready files and a private online gallery. The Ceremony Collection is two hours with at least 120 images; the Essentials Collection is five hours with at least 250 images and a sneak peek within a week. You'll find the prices for both just above.

How much time should we book for an elopement?

Picture the parts of the day you want to keep. The vows, a few family photos and relaxed portraits fit comfortably into two hours. Book five hours and the story can begin earlier and end later - getting ready beforehand, a second spot for portraits, the first toast at dinner. More time can be added at $500 per hour.

Can it be just the two of us, or can we invite a few guests?

Either is perfect. Some couples marry with only an officiant and two witnesses; others gather a small circle of family and friends. Whatever the size, the gallery holds your vows, the faces of everyone who came and unhurried portraits of you as newlyweds.

Where are the best places to elope around Vancouver?

It depends on the season and the feeling you want. Lighthouse Park has mossy forest and ocean views, Spanish Banks has a wide beach with the mountains across the water, and Stanley Park and Queen Elizabeth Park offer gardens and trails close to downtown. If a spot needs a permit or parking, or I need to travel, you'll see it in your quote up front.

Will you photograph a city hall or at-home ceremony?

Gladly. A short civil ceremony or vows in your own garden can be every bit as moving as a big venue, and two hours suit it well. We'll check any photography rules ahead of time, then take portraits right there or somewhere beautiful close by.

Will you come with us if we elope outside Greater Vancouver?

I'd love to - the mountains, the islands or somewhere much farther away. We'll work out travel and accommodation together, and every cost is written into your quote before you commit.

Is it too late to book if our date is only weeks away?

Not necessarily. The most popular summer Saturdays go early, so asking ahead gives you the widest choice, but small ceremonies and weekdays are often easier to fit in. If your date is close, send it over - if I'm free, I'll happily be there.

How do we secure our date?

Start by sending your date and the day you're picturing. We'll talk it through, I'll suggest the right coverage, and you'll receive a quote written for your plans. A signed agreement and a small deposit hold the date for you; the agreement also shows when the rest is due.
